A Bride To Bee
Search:

Up or Down? How about both!

May 28, 2008

Here at aBridetoBee.com we are constantly searching for the ‘new’ things with weddings. One we keep seeing over and over isn’t about the dress or the decorations, or even the cake. This one gets a little hairy!

If you’re like most brides and have no idea if you’re locks would look better down to flow in the wind, or up and restraigned all day… why not do both?

Start your wedding with your hair in an up-do, then in the ride to your reception… take it down! Your guests will love the little bit of surprise and your wedding pictures will be fun to share with others.

If you really want to mix it up, do it the other way…. walk down the isle with your hair down, then at the reception get one of your lovely ladies to help you pin it back. The sudden change will, like we said, be a great way to mix up the party!

Flower Packages

May 22, 2008

One thing we’ve found while doing all our bridal research is that more and more we’re seeing flower shops that are offering Bridal packages. This can greatly cut back in the cost of your flowers, getting them as a collection is the way to go. ProFlowers.com offers a few different packages ranging from smaller packages, to ones a little larger.

If you’d like to order flowers from your local flower shop or grocery store, yes- I said grocery store, then be sure to ask them what kind of packages they offer for wedding parties. Sometimes you have to ask to get a better deal!

Another thing to do is do a little research and see if you can find a local wholesale garden supplier. Most cities have local wholesalers for flowers and plants and its a great way to get fresh items at a low cost!

Hottest MUST HAVE!

May 21, 2008

If the name doesn’t say it all, the contents do! The hottest MUST HAVE this wedding season is by far ‘The Ultimate Wedding Organizer’ by Mindy Weiss. The Mindy Weiss collection was brought to us by a wonderful company who’ve extended her line to contain keepsakes, piggy banks, luggage tags, passport cases, and so much more.

We’ve gotten an up close look at the whole line of Mindy Weiss wedding items and it was hands-down unanomous decision that the Ultimate Wedding Organizer is by far the best! And not just the best in her collection, but in all our years dealing with weddings… it’s by far the best planner we’ve seen!

Our friends at WeddingFavorsNow.com are exclusively offering this item, and her whole collection, just for you! If you’d like to see the rest of her items, or to purchase the Ultimate Wedding Organizer, follow this link to WeddingFavorsNow.com.

Tips for Attending a Bridal Show

May 20, 2008

* Be prepared to wait in line to register. Be patient! This is well worth it.
* Bring preprinted self-adhesive address labels if you have them. This will save you much time and allow you to sign up for anything you want very quickly.
* Bring a pen and print very clearly when registering for anything.
* Bring your checkbook if you want to actually book any services, or hold dates with a deposit. Be sure to check on refund policies before giving any money, and read the contract carefully before signing.
* Collect any information you are interested in - take it home to look over again when you have some quiet time.
* If you are out of town, send your mother or friend to register you for prizes and collect information on services you need.
* Be prepared to wear a “Bride-to-be” sticker to receive special attention from the vendors.
* The later fashion show time are generally less crowded.
* It is nice if your fiancé attends with you IF he is interested. About 30% do attend, so he won’t be the only one there!
* Arrive at least one hour prior to the fashion show time that you want to see. Seating is usually first come-first serve.

Special thanks to Dan Cavanaugh of Bride Show Inc. for these great tips.
